Add Panorama photo settings to the Shadow.

New postby dumbstart on Fri Dec 14, 2007 1:29 pm

I was working on a short overview of taking pictures with the Shadow and stumbled across a post over at http://www.xda-developers.com. A member of the forum name phatman81 stumbled across a new shooting mode hidden in the registry. By making a simple registry change he was able to add Panorama to the available shooting modes. You can read his post at the XDA Developers forum. From his post he seems to be having a lot of problems that the Shadow does not. The Panorama file is saved as a JPG and I have been able to take three in a row with no known issues.

To make things easier I created a CAB that allows you to enable and disable this feature without having to edit the registry your self. You can download it from my website http://www.dumbstart.com. Install the CAB file and then check the box to enable the Panorama mode, un-check the box to disable the Panorama mode.

Here is a normal photo from the Shadow.

That is awesome, Good Work Michael!

I wonder why this wasn't enabled in the first place?

Panorama? What exactly does it do? Warp the photo? Make it longer?

It allows you to "stitch" multiple photos together so that you get a longer image.

Once you install the file under the Start menu you should see an option for Panoramic Setting. Open that program (as seen in the picture below at position 5) and select the checkbox. You may need to restart at that point.
