Yea try the link I gave you earlier, that one should work, I had to downgrade my phone today because of some issues I was having, and I had to use that file, it worked like a charm. I think that's your problem.

Using the DREAIMG.nbh downloaded from the other site did not solve the problem. I was able to glimpse that the white/gray screen displays "No Image File" for the split second it is up. But I know that the file is at the root of the card. Could this be a permission issue? The bootloader should see the image but it does not. Any suggestions?

like I said before I just used this file a few hours ago, and it worked. did you used your phone or comp to download the file??

I have done it both ways tried each file. Does the image file need to have any special attributes such as read-only. Right now its only file attribute is "archive". Is there an md5 checksum for the files? Also, googling this problem I some some mention of TMobile/google possibly patching the bootloader to disallow downgrades. I doubt this is a problem, but wanted to know if there was any truth to this.

tmobile nor google has done nothing about it as of right now. [maybe on the next ota update] I just dont kno why it is not working for you. when you formatted your sd card, did you do a "quick" format??

No, just a regular format. I only have a regular sd slot on my laptop so I had to put the G1's mini SD inside the SD adapter card. Then brought up my computer, right clicked and did a format. I did not check the "quick option".

I'm sorry then, because you are doing everything right. Just don't know why isnt it working. if i were you though i would maybe try and re-format the sd card using the g1. connect your g1 and select mount when prompt and reformat it.

Will do, thanks for your help. I will try to format it using the USB. If that does not work, I will monitor this forum for the next few days, maybe someone else has dealt with this.

Eureka! The USB format of the sd card did it. It is loading the image now. It must of been windows or the sd mini card adapter was not formatting the card correctly.
